Portfolio

Portfolio window enable you track your trades. A real-time spreadsheet of active and closed trades, a Portfolio window can provide you with a complete summary of profit and loss.

Screen Layout

A portfolio window consists of a header and a table. The header summarizes account information. The table contains rows and columns. The rows contain information about trades. The columns contain trading information.

A. Portfolio Selection

User can create up to 3 portfolios and each portfolio supports upto 30 records. To select portfolio to display, just simply select from Portfolio tab menu.

Button Function
Save Save the active portfolio.
Remove Delete the active portfolio.

B. Header Fields

Field Description
Total Unrealized P/L (KVND) No entry; calculated from table; identifies customer or trader profit or loss of traded shares.
Total Realized P/L (KVND) No entry; calculated from table; identifies customer or trader profit or loss of traded shares.
Total P/L (KVND) No entry; calculated from table; identifies customer or trader profit or loss as the result of realized P/L and unrealized P/L.
Total Market Value (KVND) No entry; calculated from table; shows the sum of market value.
Total Commission (KVND) No entry; calculated from table; shows the sum of paid commission.
Holding Cost (KVND) No entry; calculated from table; identifies cost of buying shares plus buying commission.

C. Table Fields

Field Description
Delete a record. Click this button to delete the selected record.
No. Sequence of record with green/red light to indicate Unrealized Profit/Loss from your investment. Green light when Unrealized P/L is positive figures. Red light when Unrealized P/L is negative figures.
Symbol Identifies instrument; valid values are symbols used for Vi-Trade.
Avail Qty Available quantity. No entry; calculated field.
Avail Qty = Buy Qty - Sell Qty
Buy Qty Buy quantity, valid values (positive figure): number of shares for stocks.
Buy Price Buy price, valid values (positive figure).
%Com % Commission, valid values (positive figure).
Buy Date Optional. Buy Date. Enter date format as DD/MM/YYYY.
Investment Cost (KVND) No entry; calculated field.
Investment Cost = (Buy Qty * Buy Price) + Commission
Last No entry; Last price.
Market Value (KVND) No entry; calculated field.
Market Value = Avail Qty * Last
Sell Qty Sell quantity, valid values (positive figure): number of shares for stocks.
Sell Price Sell price, valid values (positive figure).
Unrealized P/L (KVND) Identifies customer or trader profit or loss of unsold shares at current prices.
Unrealized P/L = (Market Value - Comm.) - Holding Cost
Holding Cost = (Avail Qty Buy Price) + Commission
Realized P/L (KVND) Identifies customer or trader profit or loss of traded shares.
Realized P/L = Sell Amount - Cost Amount
Sell Amount = (Sell Qty * Sell Price) - Commission
Cost Amount = (Sell Qty * Buy Price) + Commission
Set Limit Alert Set limit alert. Click this button to set limit alert of the selected stock.

Managing Portfolio

A portfolio window consists of a header and a table. The header summarizes account information. The table contains rows and columns. The rows contain information about trades. The columns contain trading information.

A. Adding a Trade

To enter a trade, follow these steps:

1. Click at Symbol column. An entry box is displayed.
2. Enter symbol of instrument bought and then press Enter.
The entry box moves to the Buy Qty field.
3. Enter number of shares bought and then press Enter.
The entry box moves to the Buy Price field.
4. Enter price at which the transaction took place, and then press Enter.
The entry box moves to the %Com field.
5. Enter %commission at which the transaction took place, and then press Enter.
The entry box moves to the Buy Date field.
6. Enter date of the transaction (date format is DD/MM/YYYY), and then press Enter.

Portfolio should be saved before move to other screens. See Saving Portfolio section.

B. Modifying a Transaction

To modify a transaction, follow these steps:

1. Click on field of the transaction you want to modify.
2. Re-enter the transaction with the correct information, and then press Enter.

C. Deleting a Transaction

To delete a transaction, follow these steps:

1. Click on the transaction you want to delete.
2. A warning message dialog is displayed.

3. Click Yes button to proceed.

D. Closing a Trade

To close a trade, follow these steps:

1. Move the cursor to the trade you want to close.
2. Click at Sell Qty field. An entry box is displayed.
3. Enter the number of shares sold, and then press Enter.
The entry box moves to the Sell Price field.
4. Enter the price at which the transaction was closed, and then press Enter.

E. Saving a Portfolio

To save a portfolio, follow these steps:

1. After you have completed adding transactions.
2. Click Save button.

F. Deleting a Portfolio

To delete a portfolio, follow these steps:

1. Select the portfolio that you want to delete.
2. Click Delete button. Remove dialog is displayed.

3. Click Yes button to proceed.
